OHB Sweden is engaged in a number of new and challenging spacecraft and small satellite constellation programs - commercially, nationally and with the European Space Agency (ESA). This position is within the Spacecraft Department, where you will work with a team of engineers to develop future satellite systems, primarily in the early study phases when overall mission concept, performances and architectures are defined, often in close collaboration with customers, end users and application experts.
We are building our future micro and smallsat programs on the Innosat platform, which to date is well underway on a number of in-flight or soon-to-fly programs such as MATS, GMS-T, AWS, GARAI, ADIS and EIS.
You will also work closely with the Business development and Sales organization to prepare proposals and concept studies to customers. You shall preferably have a wide experience in space system engineering, including mission design and analysis, satellite applications and instruments, system performance and satellite architectural design, with a broad understanding of all relevant engineering disciplines.
It is desirable that the applicant has experience of comprehending and designing within the constraints of many variables, and the ability to understand the complete function and performance of the system. You shall have an interest in both the technical and the commercial aspects of space systems.
You will also be responsible for contributing to and maintaining mission and satellite system budgets, performing design trade-offs and controlling interfaces between all mission elements and subsystems.
We are looking for a team-player, learning quickly as well has having the ability to work autonomously. Capability for problem solving necessary as well as the ability to work in a pragmatic way focusing on finding the right level of quality and to deliver on time even with short deadlines.
Applicants are expected to have expertise/experience in several of the following areas:
- Satellite applications and services
- Satellite mission design and analysis
- End-to-end mission performance
- Spacecraft architectural design
- Satellite instrument and subsystem design and analyses
Required qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in related Engineering disciplines
- At least 3 years of experience in engineering
- Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written, and excellent ability to write technical text in English
- Located in, or willingness to relocate to, Stockholm, Sweden
As a Satellite Mission Engineer you are working in the department Spacecraft, travels will be required (3-5 trips per year primarily within Europe).
