OHB Sweden is a Swedish provider of space systems and develops, builds, tests and operates satellites for space missions within communications, earth observation, space research and exploration. We deliver satellites and sub-systems for low-earth-orbit, geostationary and interplanetary missions.
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated C++ Software Engineer with embedded interest.
General:
All of our projects involves a wide range of expertise, and thus requires a broad and flexible skill set for all those working at OHB Sweden. With this in mind, we are looking for a highly motivated software engineer with strong skills and documented experience in C++ Software Development, Communication Protocols, Software Development Processes and Continuous Integration.
You will work in a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for all space software development, from hardware-oriented software to application software. You will be involved in all phases of a satellite project from specification phase, through design, implementation, validation, integration, acceptance, and operation.
The result of your work shall be described and documented in English, e.g. technical specifications, design, test reports etc. and presented to the satellite project and customers.
The C++ Software Engineer will work in the Space Software Department and report to the Head of the Spacecraft Systems Department. The position is based at OHB Sweden premises in Kista, Stockholm. The expected duties are the following:
Task breakdown:
- Design, code, test, deliver and maintain C++ software from concept to operational solutions.
- Complete project deliverables in accordance with applicable SW engineering standards.
- Continuously improve our engineering best practices.

Required qualifications:
- University degree (MSc or equivalent) in computer engineering, computer science, electronics or physics.
- Experience with C++ Software Development (C++, CMake), especially on the application level of embedded software.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools like Jenkins and Git.
- Familiarity with standard communication protocols (Serial / UDP / TCP / SpaceWire / CAN).
- Ability to work on multiple tasks against tight deadlines
Experience with:
- Operating Systems: Linux, RTEMS (or other real-time operating system), Windows.
- Programming Languages: C++, Python.
- Tools: GCC toolchain, Microsoft Visual Studio, CMake, Gtest (or similar), IBM DOORS, Jenkins, Git.
