Electronics Engineer
OHB Sweden is a Swedish provider of space systems and develops, builds, tests and operates satellites for different types of space missions within communications, earth observation, space research and exploration. We deliver satellites and sub-systems for low-earth-orbit, geostationary and interplanetary missions.
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Electronics Engineer!
General information:
All our projects involve a very broad range of expertise, covering for example design, analysis, embedded software, operations, EMC, thermal, testing, and integration. This requires a broad and flexible skill set for all those working at OHB Sweden. With this in mind, we are looking for a skilled Electronics Engineer.
An Electronics Engineer is expected to be able to perform:
- System level design activities,
- Avionics unit level design activities, including simulations, analysis, validation and testing (functional, performance, environmental)
- Design of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) in the field of data communication and power electronics
Naturally, all these steps require close interactions with the other experts in house covering the other areas of engineering such as EMC, Embedded SW, Thermal, Mechanical, RF, as well as other electrical engineers; a strong team-oriented mindset is key.
The work is mostly executed in a typical office environment, but the hardware is handled in our own clean rooms, electrical labs, and environmental labs. The job therefore entails a mixed work environment of typical engineering office environment, whilst also being comfortable and knowledgeable in a Lab Environment.
The Electronics Engineer will work in the Avionics and Electrical Department and report to the Head of Department. The position is based in OHB Sweden premises in Kista, Stockholm. The expected duties are the following:
Task breakdown:
- Design and system engineering in the areas of electronics, power, and related applications.
- Defining and designing test procedures, setups, documenting (drawings, schematics) with rather open initial definitions.
- Support ongoing projects in the engineering, including creating procedures, procuring hardware, integrating the test, executing the test and documenting the results.
- Support future programs and projects with planning and budgeting for the purpose of proposals.
- Design of electrical support equipment.
Required qualifications:
- Master Level degree in Electrical Engineering or similar,
- Fluent in English,
- >3 years experience in an electronics design and testing environment,
- Proficiency in Altium or other similar circuit & routing design program,
- Proficiency in Analog electronics design (Amplification, filtering, acquisition),
- Proficiency in Power electronics design (Conversion, isolation, EMC),
- Familiarity in Digital design (microcontrollers, FPGA),
- Familiarities with compiled languages (C, C++) and scripting languages (Python),
- Familiarities with MATLAB and Simulink,
- Familiarities with basic mechanical construction for electronics,
- Familiarities with thermal handling of electronics,
- Familiarity with hardware handling and testing mostly in time domain with voltages up to 1kV and / or currents up to 30A,
Advantageous additional qualifications:
- Familiarity with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
- Familiarity with Space Radiation Environments and Effects on electronics
- Familiarity with CE marking
- Additional related certifications
- Experience in the Space Business and knowledge of the European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) is a merit
- Fluent in Swedish
Team working and ability to work autonomously are key to a typical day. Some travel may be required (2-3 trips per year).
