Propulsion Sales Manager
We are now looking for an ambitious, inventive and solutions oriented Sales Manager!
OHB Sweden is a leading provider of satellites and satellite sub-systems for Low-Earth-Orbit, geostationary and interplanetary missions. We develop, build, test and operate space systems for missions within communications, earth observation, space research and exploration. Propulsion subsystems (chemical and electric) represent the biggest business area of the company with customers worldwide. Our activities also cover small satellites and innovative Attitude & Orbit Control Systems (AOCS) solutions.
The company is now expanding very quickly, and we need to expand our team with a Business Manager for Propulsion ready to enable our customers’ space ambitions. We are looking for candidates with knowledge and experience in space propulsion systems, insight in the space market and genuine interest in the commercial aspects of space business.
As a Sales Manager for Propulsion at OHB Sweden you will work in our growing and highly dynamic Business Development & Sales Department and play a key role in our business growth, focusing on expanding our propulsion business. You will interact heavily with our existing and new propulsion customers where you will need to understand our customers’ needs and match them with our business portfolio. The tasks include customer interaction from first contacts, through proposal preparations and negotiations to contract finalization.
The tasks of the Propulsion Sales Manager include:
- Technical and commercial assessment of customer needs
- Proposal preparation, including both technical and commercial parts
- Cost estimations
- Negotiations with customers. Marketing and sales activities focusing on our propulsion products and offerings
- Preparation of sales and marketing plans
- Preparation of marketing and promotion material
We expect you to be able to work independently and in collaboration with expert staff as required to establish the best possible customer solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- University degree in engineering
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with satellite propulsion or similar
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical material to both a technical and non-technical audience.
- Commercial interest and mindset and good negotiation skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Located in, or willingness to relocate to the Stockholm area in Sweden
Added advantageous qualifications:
- Experience and knowledge of satellite propulsion engineering
- BD or sales experience incl. proposal writing and negotiations
- Experience with institutional programs like ESA/EC and/or the defence sector
- Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce
- Swedish proficiency both in spoken and written
Being a company with around 140 international employees and growing, much of the expertise lies on the employee to handle tasks autonomously, efficiently and work closely with colleagues, suppliers and customers. As you will have a lot of external contacts an outgoing personality is essential. Travel will be required for both customer meetings as well for conferences and events.
