OHB Sweden is working on a series of scientific and earth observation missions. These include discovering a virgin comet, improving weathers forecast by atmospheric measurements, understanding the changes in our environment… These are just an extract of the purposes of some of our spacecraft projects. Our customers are the major space companies and agencies in Europe and globally.

As Head of the Project Office, you will make a major contribution to the success of these missions.

The Head of Project Office is overall responsible for the execution and results of all projects in the company and is a member of the company’s Management Team. The position is a key function in the company with impact on many areas, including the financial standing of the company.

The Head of Project Office has line manager responsibility for around 15 persons, including:

• Project Managers that run projects of the size 10-300 MSEK
• Project Support staff responsible for project configuration and document control.
• Procurement and contracts officers.

Main tasks:

• Ensure On Quality on Time on Cost delivery of the projects
• Contribute to an appropriate resource planning across the company:
  • Through the Portfolio management process
  • Through the Resource planning process
    
• Develop and maintain a relationship to the Customer and Supplier decision makers to get feedback, understand the context and prepare the ground for escalations.
• Provide overall direction and support for the Project office team.
• Provide feedback, coaching, support, opportunities for development to the team.
• As member of OHB Sweden Management Team, contribute to the overall development and improvement of the company
• Contribute to the company objectives and strategy.
• Develop project management competences in the team and company.
• Prioritize in case of resource conflicts/overload
• Monitor key performance indicators as defined by the business.
• Support to HR and department heads in the recruitment process, interviews etc.

Your work experience:
You have experience as Project Manager for major development projects and you have moved on to managing multiple projects in a line management function.
You are used to work in a technical development context and in the frame of international collaboration. Experience from the space industry is an advantage.

Your competence:

• Academic degree, preferable from a technical university.
• Strong knowledge of project management discipline and methodology.
• Knowledge of Project Control.
• Financial management knowledge.

You need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written. Swedish is an advantage but not a must since the working language is English
